Dr. Perera is a Senior Consultant and Member of the Board of Study at the Postgraduate Institute of Management, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, specializing in the areas of Entrepreneurship, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Leadership and Business Development, Human Resource Development, and Organizational Behavior. A design engineer by profession, Dr. Perera has nearly 24 years of executive and senior management experience in the private sector as an Engineer, Project Manager, Business Development Manager, and General Manager. Dr. Perera’s professional and academic reputation has been built through his specialist activities in training programs internationally, research publications, and participation in numerous national and international conferences including the First International Conference on Human Resource Development in Asia (Bangalore 2003) where he won the award for the best paper. He was also awarded an Achievers Award by the Postgraduate Institute of Management Professional Association in 2004 for his contribution to management in Sri Lanka. Dr. Perera is a specialist in Qualitative Research Methodology. One of his key involvements was the revival of the MBA program of the Postgraduate Institute of Management in the United Arab Emirates and Qatar. He continues to guide Genesis as the Coordinator of its functions. Since 2022 he has been the Coordinator of PIM’s PhD Programme. He was a member of the Board of Governors and is presently an Associate Member of the Symphony Orchestra of Sri Lanka. In the area of sports, he has been a rugby football player. Dr. Perera earned the degree of Doctor of Philosophy Ph.D. in Business Administration for his doctoral thesis on Commitment to High Performing Sri Lankan Companies in the area of Organizational Behavior; and earned an MBA with Merit from the PIM.
